Overview
Linkside ("we", "our", or "the app") is a golf social app that helps you coordinate tee times, track scores, and stay connected with your golf group. We are committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about how it is used.
Information We Collect
- Phone number — used as your account identifier and for SMS invites (with your consent).
- Name & email — optional profile details you provide.
- Contacts — accessed only on your device to help you find and invite friends. Contact data is never uploaded to our servers.
- Location — used only while you are actively searching for golf courses. We do not store or track your location in the background.
- Profile photo — stored on our servers if you choose to upload one.
- Tee times & scores — the rounds, RSVPs, and scores you create or enter in the app.
- Device token — a push notification token used to deliver in-app notifications (e.g. tee time invites, RSVP updates).
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your Linkside account.
- To send tee time invitations and RSVP updates via push notification or SMS (SMS requires your explicit opt-in).
- To enable group coordination features: tee times, golf trips, chat, and scorecards.
- To calculate course handicaps and round differentials when you provide course rating data.
- To send reminders for upcoming tee times.
SMS Communications
SMS messages are only sent when you explicitly opt in. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by adjusting your settings in the app. Standard message and data rates may apply.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:
- Supabase — our database provider (hosted infrastructure).
- Twilio — used to send SMS verification codes and invite messages.
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — used to deliver push notifications to your device.
- Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — used only if you choose these login methods; we receive only a verified identity token.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the email below. We will process your request within 30 days.
Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords (when used) are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Authentication tokens are stored securely in the iOS Keychain.
Children's Privacy
Linkside is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page.
